Here goes.

If I were....

A Natural Phenomenon: Snow

Snow has always been something that, to me, helps to cover at least in part the ugliness in life. Everytime it snows, it’s like the bad stuff is being covered to be reborn into something fresh and new. I like to try and do that when I can, always hoping for something better to come from things. I guess I’ve always been somewhat empathetic, and with that empathy, I try to help come up with something that takes away the bad and helps add some good to the mix. And hopefully this leads to a new start where it's needed.

A Metal: Bronze

This metal is both durable and strong, and one can find innumerable pieces of artwork fashioned from it. Its versatility is one of its better qualities, and obviously it's quite memorable. They named an entire Age after it, after all.

An Animal: Wolf

Fierce and maternal, a wolf is a creature that can be both gentle and vicious, depending upon the circumstances. A wolf will protect her children from those who might do them harm, and will do what it takes to keep them safe, while still encouraging them to try their own wings. She watches them as they venture out into the world, letting them make their own mistakes, but there to step in if they overstep their bounds or run into a risk that they can’t handle.

A more tangible reason has to do with my two adopted boys and those others that call me mom because of that situation. So it's perfect.

A Mythical Being: Winged Horse

Wild and independent, this creature personifies the idea of freedom to me. It flies but is very sturdy and graceful, and while not easily tamed, it can be a great friend when won and a dependable ally.

A Famous Human Being: Oscar Wilde

Witty and irreverent, he often worked outside of normal social conventions to shock and his writings showed this. He had little use for the status quo, and made his mark in the best way he could, which was by being himself.

A Human Activity: Hugging

Nothing can show affection and support like a hug, and it can help to cheer someone like nothing else. It is a loving gesture that can just say "I care and I'm here for you. No strings attached."

A Work of Art: Graffiti

This sort of art is probably the most human that can be found, and while it can be very simple, it can also range to the quite complex. It is frowned upon by some, encouraged by others, and is a very potent and visible form of communication. Given my affinity for those most likely to engage in this art form, it just seems natural to choose it, and the fact that it is often done in the way of breaking rules/laws, I feel it just fits very well. And right now my very favourite graffiti artist is having some troubles of his own, and so it's quite in my mind, as is he.

A Weapon: Tongue.

My first line of defense is my mouth/wit, and it's usually enough to win any battles that might come up. I can be quite formidable in that way, although many might not believe it. Of course, if that doesn't fix the situation, a good right cross can......

An Object: Glue

Used to fix broken things or put pieces together that were meant to be, glue is a reliable, although not infallible, object. While things that it fixes will never be exactly the same again, it stands ready to do what is needed to make things right.
