I am a A Crimson Dragon!

Hey, I took the online Inner Dragon quiz and found out I am a Crimson Dragon on the inside.

In the war between good and evil, Crimson Dragons take the side of the noble and good....
When it comes to the powers of Chaos vs. those of Law and Order, your inner dragon walks a fine line between Law and Chaos....
As far as magical tendencies, a Crimson Dragon's nature does not lend itself well to the ways of Magic....
During combat situations, whether by spells or by claw, your inner dragon will do whatever it takes to get the job done....
Crimson dragons are closely related to red dragons. They are nearly identical in appearance to reds. Aside from the brighter red scales and some minor facial differences, the only appreciable difference is the black throat of the crimson dragon.'
At greater distances, crimson dragons appear identical to red dragons. Unlike most dragons, the scales of a crimson dragon change little in color throughout their lives. They stay a bright crimson red from birth to old age.'
While crimson dragons resemble red dragons in appearance, their temperament and outlook on life are quite different. While they still tend to hoard treasure, Crimson dragons take the side of good during conflicts between good and evil. A crimson dragon's worst enemy is the evil red dragon, who give them a bad reputation. Combat between the two types are relatively common, and, assuming the combatants are of roughly the same age, these fights are usually quite evenly matched.'

This Dragon's favorite elements are: Roses, Emeralds, and Bravery

Oh Great Cthulhu!

I have been an extremely sedulous devotee this year.

In November, I bombed a cultist gathering (-100 points). In December, I visited my relatives in Innsmouth (100 points). In October, I prepared an ocean voyage to R'lyeh (200 points). In January, I sacrificed [info]prettyarbitrary to Cthulhu (500 points). Last week, I recruited [info]boycalledmuse as a new cultist (30 points). In May, I stopped [info]t0tem7 from defiling Lovecraft's grave (-20 points).

In short, I have been very good (710 points) and deserve to be promoted to High Priest.

Your humble and obedient servant,

Submit your own plea to Cthulhu!

- Make a post (public, friendslocked, filtered...whatever you're comfortable with) to your LJ. The post should contain your list of 10 holiday wishes. The wishes can be anything at all, from simple and fun ("I'd love a Snape/Hermione icon that's just for me") to medium ("I wish for _____ on DVD") to really big ("All I want for Christmas is a new car/computer/house/TV.") The important thing is, make sure these wishes are things you really, truly want.
- If you wish for real possible things, make sure you include some sort of contact info in your post, whether it's your address or just your email address where Santa (or one of his elves) could get in touch with you.
- Also, make sure you post some version of these guidelines in your LJ, or link to this post so that the holiday joy will spread.

- Surf around your friendslist (or friendsfriends, or just random journals) to see who has posted their list. And now here's the important part:
- If you see a wish you can grant, and it's in your heart to do so, make someone's wish come true. Sometimes someone's trash is another's treasure, and if you have a leather jacket you don't want or a gift certificate you won't use--or even know where you could get someone's dream purebred Basset Hound for free--do it. Once a wish has been granted, it will be crossed off my list.

You needn't spend money on these wishes unless you want to. The point isn't to put people out, it's to provide everyone a chance to be someone else's holiday elf--to spread the joy. Gifts can be made anonymously or not--it's your call.

There are no rules with this project, no guarantees, and no strings attached. Just...wish, and it might come true. Give, and you might receive. And you'll have the joy of knowing you made someone's holiday special.

My List:

1: For everyone here to be happy on Christmas Day! (Maybe it'll come true since Becky asked for it, too?)
2: Snowmen of any variety, including pictures of ones people have built.
3: Books, figures, what have you about or by other cultures, particularly African and Native American, but any would be welcome.
4: I'll take that new computer.
5: I want the new year to be one of happiness and no trouble for those I love since breaks are something many don't seem to get.
6: Winged horses in whatever form.
7: More Christmas decorations.
8: Things made specially by people I care about.
9: I want the remodeling/fixing of my house to be finished to my satisfaction, including finally getting the addition up that was started oh, so many years ago.
10: A real, legitimate, lucrative work at home job so I can support my kids with a comfortable income while not depriving them of my presence.

I shall now post a meme from [ profile] ravenscanary

When you see this, post a poem in your journal.

One of my top three favourite poems of all time, by Langston Hughes, one of my all-time favourite poets:

The Negro Speaks of Rivers

I've known rivers:
I've known rivers ancient as the world and older than the
flow of human blood in human veins.

My soul has grown deep like the rivers.

I bathed in the Euphrates when dawns were young.
I built my hut near the Congo and it lulled me to sleep.
I looked upon the Nile and raised the pyramids above it.
I heard the singing of the Mississippi when Abe Lincoln
went down to New Orleans, and I've seen its muddy
bosom turn all golden in the sunset.

I've known rivers:
Ancient, dusky rivers.

My soul has grown deep like the rivers.

Well, since I've been rudely tagged, I shall list my favourite songs here, and no, this is not easy!

1) The Wings That Fly Us Home - This has been my favourite song for many years, and I don't see it changing anytime soon. It's performed by John Denver and I just love it. It's about the spirit and the lyrics are great. It's not one of his more well known songs, but it's by far the best, in my opinion.

2) Love's the Only House - This is by Martina McBride, and I've put the lyrics up before. It fits how I feel very well about things, and follows a belief system I definitely share and live.

3) Live Like You Were Dying - This song just reminds me of Mikel. It's how he lives life, and that's something that I really admire about him. It's about a guy who found out he was dying, and when asked about what he did when he heard the news, he tells about how he did things like skydiving, mountain climbing, and other things that most people simply don't do because of one reason or another.

4) We Shall Be Free - This is a Garth Brooks song, and I just love it. It's all about how someday we'll get past judging people for things like race, religion, sexual preference and the like. It's a great message and I think it's really inspiring.

5) What a Wonderful World - This is a classic by Louis Armstrong, and it's a really nice and optimistic song. Considering who sang it and the time in which it was written, I think that adds a lot to the whole thing. I mean, if someone like that can show that kind of optimism with all of the things black people had to face back then, then we all should be able to, right?

6) I Think About You - It was so hard to come up with a sixth one! But this one works since I really love the whole idea behind it. It's by Collin Raye and it's talks about how everytime this father sees something that denigrates women or harm that comes to women, he thinks about his eight year old daughter. It definitely hits a strong chord with me, and I can easily expand it to how I think about all my kids, both biological and otherwise, when I see things like that.

So that's it! Umm. Who to tag? I'll have to see if I have enough people on my friends list that haven't been tagged already. If not, I'll tag as many as I can.

You scored as Cultural Creative. Cultural Creatives are probably the newest group to enter this realm. You are a modern thinker who tends to shy away from organized religion but still feels as if there is something greater than ourselves. You are very spiritual, even if you are not religious. Life has a meaning outside of the rational.

Sorry, Thor!

You scored 44% Esotericism, 50% Power, and 34% Malevolence!

In Norse mythology, Jormungand is one of the three children of the god
Loki and his wife, the giantess Angrboda. The gods were well aware that
this monster was growing fast and that it would one day bring much evil
upon gods and men. So Odin deemed it advisable to render it harmless.
He threw the serpent in the ocean that surrounds the earth, but the
monster had grown to such an enormous size that it easily spans the
entire world, hence the name Midgard Serpent. It lies deep in the ocean
where it bites itself in its tail, and all mankind is caught within his
coils. At the destruction of the universe, Jormungand and Thor will
kill each other.

Since she asked so nicely and demurely ::cough cough:: I decided that I'd write one on my oldest niece, Bridget (no, I can't say you're my favourite niece, sorry. You and Kayla share an equal place in my heart, at least until I see what you got me for Christmas).

Bridget is a very unique person. It's kind of amazing what traits she shares with what people, because it's quite a mish mash. She inherited bluntness from her father Evan and her mother Geri, who really couldn't be a more perfect couple. However, she has an innately sneaky side that she gets from me, and she hero worships Evan's best friend Randy, who is a very subtle person. She shares his love of things dark and horrorful (yes, I made up a word. I'm allowed). It's funny to watch her because of all of this. And it's really interesting to watch when her and her dad get into arguments, because neither one of them will back down and just love to yell at each other and frustrate each other. However, even through that, it's easy to see the real genuine love and affection they have for each other. Neither has ever been mean to the other, or a bit insulting, and it's really cool to see how they iron things out in the end. Of course, Geri is usually the one who has to break things up and be reasonable, in her own little way.

Bridget's begun to dream of a career making movies, specifically horror movies. She's a determined person who works very hard toward any goals she sets for herself, so I can see her reaching that one, so keep your eyes open in the future for the cult classics she's sure to create. I'll be able to proudly say that she's my niece, and she'll let me see the movies for free, right Bridget? You know I love you hoards, so I really don't need to say that. Yes, I know, I just did. I'm contradictory, what can I say?

Oh, and no, you can't keep Madison the whole time you're here for Christmas break. She's mine. You and Becky must understand that!
aerdran: (Winged Horse)
Now, I couldn't forget Cat in this, and now that I have a little time to sit down and do some more, I had to write on her. I first got to know her when things were going bad with Cult, and he'd disappeared and then ended up in the hospital after being shot. She e-mailed me quickly when she saw there was trouble, and it really was very nice to have such great support. She proved herself to be a very good friend and support system then, and she has continued to prove that very thing.

The best thing about her, I think, is that she's so quick to care. She hardly knew me at all, and yet jumped to my virtual side when things got bad. Things kept being bad for some time, and other bad things happened as well. She didn't once think about backing off and forgetting about me, and in fact did all that she could to help. I don't know how much time she spent researching things on the internet for me, but I can't thank her enough for investing that time. She's been especially cool when it comes to Cult, who benefits even more than I do from knowing that someone cares, even someone he's never met and will likely never meet.

So yeah. She's been there through bad and through good, and proven herself a stalwart and loyal friend. I will meet her someday, come hell or high water. I can only wish her the best, because she deserves all the happiness in the world.
